Me,
You have to understand that the crowd that hangs out here is anti-dOOd and we've a tendency to not trust or respect people who use special characters in their names. We laugh at dOOds here.
Doesn't mean you ARE a dOOd, but special characters remind people of them.

Its a little bit snobby with a look down your nose appeal you just don't see much these days.

I have to agree here.
It is like you've identified yourself as the dOOd ideal - but without the special characters it fails in a reassuring way. It kind of reminds me of Jack Black running around as a super hero - tragic, funny, alarming.
