I just wanted to stop by and say "hello". I had misplaced the URL to these forums, and just found it again recently. I don't know if any of you still play Thievery, or even check the Black Cat Games forums any more, so I wanted to check in.
I hope everyone is well. Hope to talk to you soon.
P.S. Has WildBill returned at all? If not, has a replacement for his TUT server been setup? Or is there no interest whatsoever regarding Thievery any more? _________________ Team ORJ |

I'm back. I've left the Black Cat forums -- likely permanently -- but I'll not be leaving here.
If there was interest, I could certainly restart my Thievery server. |

Nope. It is a silly place!

I'm curious, Scrawp, you still playing CoH? Ever try out CoV?

Whoah. Seriously?

Oh, don't even... I've suggested MANY games. You're just not interested. |

I left in late January. Made a goodbye thread and everything. |

I'm disappointed in you. A true ghoster would have just slipped away unnoticed, leaving everyone wondering where he went. |

I saw Thwark around a few times after he left -- he's not that good. _________________ Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power. |

Any way, I still of course run a TUT server along with a Heat of Battle server (CoD mod), and other miscellaneous games occasionally, depending on what is "popular" or requested by fellow Team ORJ members. What games are you guys playing nowadays? _________________ Team ORJ |

That's OK, he wasn't that great a moderator either.

*ratshrug* Dunno, haven't been there myself in months.
| Scrawprin wrote: | | What games are you guys playing nowadays? |
Speaking for myself only, of course:
City of Heroes
City of Villains (same game as CoH, really)
Silk Road Online
And eagerly awaiting Spore. |

It is gonna take a special game to bring me back into it.
A MMORPG like Ultima Online, but way updated. _________________ <:3 )~~~

There wasn't any falling out, although that hasn't prevented a score of fairly amusing rumors. I wish I'd actually had the clout some people seem to attribute to me. I don't think BA was pleased with me leaving without giving any notice, but I think I parted on good terms with most everyone.
I just kinda realized one day that it was time for me to leave. I wasn't active in the games anymore, and I wasn't really attached to the community -- a lot of people had left, and what remained didn't interest me much. And so I left. I do miss some of the people there, but I'm still in contact with most of 'em through other means, like this forum and IM.

I'm waiting for a game to really seize and hold my attention. I think Pirates of the Burning Sea -- see my thread about it -- might be that game, but it's months away from release. For the past few weeks I've mostly been playing GalCiv2, Empire at War, and a bit of CS:S.

I'm curious what people will think of my stint as moderator after I've been gone for a while. I have the feeling that a lot of what I thought would work wasn't really effective in practice.
I'll certainly admit it's harder than I thought it would be.

Have you taken a look at PotBS? It's not gonna be everyone's thing, but from what I've seen, it looks like a massive game that's been very well designed. |

WB:
My problem with video games is that I've played Ultima Onlne and that game was done so right that everything else looks stupid to me. I want to be able to build a house, have the dangers of PvP and explore.
To date nobody has the housing system UO has (it's almost 8 years old), the flexibility, or the creativity. I'm really hard when I evaluate a game now because I expect so much.
Pirates looks good, but it lacks alot of the things that drew me to UO.
Most games look unfinished to me. _________________ <:3 )~~~

I've been playing a lot of Alien Swarm, although not as much as I used to
I've also been playing Scorched Earth, Stepmania, Psychonauts, and Morrowind as of late. Also a little bit of CS:S and Dystopia.
I'm waiting for Alien Swarm: Infested, UT2007, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and Oblivion. Spore also looks like it'll be fun game to play.
Pirates I'm not so sure about, mostly because it's MMO. I'm not a big fan of MMO :/ _________________ It's not behind the rabbit, it is the rabbit!

At least Oblivion isn't a long wait. I may actually give it a try, this one looks like it could be interesting. _________________ Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power. |

Heroes/Villains don't have the housing system UO has, but the character editor is extremely customizalbe. You can do some decent things with supergroup bases, too, but they're expensive. They're also planning some kind of housing option for characters that aren't part of a large, wealthy SG.
Hopefully, more games will take advantage of upcoming procedural design technology soon.

How often do you get to say you're hoping it's not a long wait until oblivion without having to see a shrink? |
