Show or no show? While introducing Rat to Pure Pwnage earlier today, he complained about me calling it a "show". He claims that shows have to be broadcast on some antiquated entertainment medium before they're worthy of the title. How quaint.
However, in the interest of respecting my elders, I present the question to you guys. Are Pure Pwnage and similar shows actually shows? Or are they something less, simply because they bypass traditional delivery systems?
LaughingRat- 04-26-2006
If not because it's not broadcast, then Purepwnage isn't worthy of the name "show" simply because it's so awful it actually made my eyes bleed.
And your poll options suck. Either someone has to agree with you, or they have to agree with what is essentially a statement that you're some sort of visionary.

If you're using quality as a metric, I don't think most broadcast shows would qualify.
I get a kick out of Pure Pwnage. XD

That way, no matter what choice you pick, you're at least partly right.

No argument about the quality of most network broadcasts, but at least they don't cause actual physical injury to watch.

No, you're not. Even if one chooses the option unfavorable for Purepwnage, one is still saying saying you're a visionary for thinking it's a worthwhile endeavor, while in reality, it's a steaming cauldron of goatshit.

Barnum and Baily claimed to have the greatest show on earth.
It wasn't broadcast at all in the early days.
Is it not a 'show'?
LaughingRat- 04-27-2006
It fits my definition of "show" from the conversation I had with Bill yesterday.
Let me turn that around. If I have a website, and I periodically post videos on it I've made of my dog (or whatever), is that a "show"?
Ghostly Apparition- 04-27-2006
I say they're not shows and rat is an old fogey. Of course, calling most if not all of whats on broaccast tv, shows, is pushing it. especially the reality shows.
(which coincidentally have nothing whatsoever to do with reality)
LaughingRat- 04-27-2006
If *I'M* an old fogey, what does that make YOU, Ghostly?

Fogey is quite obviously a mindset. I think young, therefor I am.
Should I make a poll on who thinks you're an old fogey?
Don't make me do it man, because I will! :P

Tell that to your pacemaker, old man!

Votes by lagomorphs don't count.
Neither do votes by the deceased, for that matter.
