TS server...
So, I've been logging on every now and then at night to see if anyone is around. You guys come on at all when we're not playing?

Mad_Gerbil- 01-25-2006

I don't get on there when I'm not playing.... I plan to be on Thursday nite around 8:00 if you wanna play then.

A word about the TS Server: I noticed on Friday night that after 12:00 my IP changed 4 times and everyone kept losing connection. My guess is that either my ISP forceably changes it to sell 'static' packages at a higher price or there was a service disruption. Suffice it to say, if we have those problems again I'll be shelling out the extra dough for a static IP address. I'm letting you know this so the frustration of getting foceably disconnected doesn't throw you. Either it will cease to be a problem or I'll see to it that it gets fixed.

I think Machine's server is back now. I've never heard of an ISP forcing disconnects -- that's crazy if that's what's happening. I think there might also be free dynamic dns forwarding services left, but the two I remembered are long gone.

I've got a service that handles that - however, it couldn't handle a forced IP change in the middle of our use.

ah, darnit. I was watching Westworld and forgot about logging on tonight.

I gotta admit that I'm pretty slow on all this technical talk. Mad Gerbil, if you would be so kind as to tell me how to connect to your server I would be forever grateful...at least until we play and you beat me...

I have another question. Is there any way I can get around a hotel firewall? I'm in hotels a lot and I can't usually play using their high speed connection because of the firewall and I'm forced to use ....yawn... dial up.

I'm on the TS server...looks like I'm here tonight. yay! I'd really like to try to get set up to play through my router .... I hate having to cut off the other comp in the house.

Sorry Mad Gerbil, I wasn't able to call you last night. I get in around 8:30 or so tonight. I'll try then.

Mad_Gerbil- 01-28-2006

Sorry Mad Gerbil, I wasn't able to call you last night. I get in around 8:30 or so tonight. I'll try then. Okie Dokie. Do you have a headset? That is, a microphone/earphones combo unit?

I'm in hotels a lot and I can't usually play using their high speed connection because of the firewall and I'm forced to use ....yawn... dial up. Just go home to play. Be sure to leave your "companion's" cash on the hotel dresser before leaving, though. :P

Once again I was unable to call you MG. I will call you some evening when I can. What is a good time or night? Will have a headset very soon.
